Position Summary

This position involves a wide range of duties, including processing of loan documents, assisting customers, answering and directing telephone calls, and extensive credit file maintenance. The primary function will be to assist loan officers in the preparation of loans, accept loan payments and respond to customer inquiries. Position requires attention to detail, excellent customer service skills and a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.    

Principal Responsibilities

  • Processes loan documents and related supporting collateral documents
  • Accepts loan payments and advances; respond to customer inquiries            
  • Retrieves customer information on loan system 
  • Prepares checks for loan proceeds (i.e., disbursement and closing costs)
  • Images (scan) documents
  • Answers and directs telephone calls within facility
  • Mails paid-out notes and processes documentation necessary to release collateral  
  • Performs duties as Notary Public for the State of Kansas  
  • Processes credit bureau reports and flood certification inquiries
  • Sets up credit files and maintains filing of all documents
  • Performs filings and releases of UCC-1s
  • Orders and maintains adequate supplies for loan department
  • Attends training and informational meetings as requested or required by management
  • Performs other duties as time and circumstances allow

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Interact effectively with customers, both internal and external
  • Recognize, evaluate, and resolve problems
  • Write information on various forms and proof entry work
  • Stand and or sit for periods of time
  • Access and manipulate data in computer terminal in various programs and formats
  • Answer telephone and provide high level of customer service
  • Operate various office equipment, including but not limited to the following: fax machines, copiers, calculators and typewriters
  • Ability to focus without distraction
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Working conditions:  A one-level office building. Work pace is brisk, especially on peak days of the month. Normal risks associated with banking functions.

Requirements: One year of college or technical school; or three to six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
