Position Summary

This position is the primary Retail product sales and Customer Service contact for both internal and external customers of the CPE location. This individual may be presented with the opportunity to make sales call with Senior Managers and/or Trust and Loan Officers when the need arises. The CSR position requires strong time management, prioritizing, delegating and leadership skills. A self-motivated individual with the ability to work under little or no supervision is required in this position. The CSR position requires accuracy, the ability to exercise sound judgment, and strict adherence to policy and procedures set forth by the bank, as well as strict compliance with state and federal laws. The position will operate a teller drawer under the guidelines set forth in the Teller Procedures Manual.    

Principal Responsibilities

  • Perform duties as Notary Public for the State of Kansas  
  • Sell bank products and services to new and existing customers; open all new deposit accounts; work with Branch Manager and Operations Manager to develop prospect lists
  • Answer customer inquiries, cross-sell additional products and services, recognize opportunities to refer prospects to other departments, assist customers in account balancing, process merchant MasterCard/Visa applications, complete IRA distributions, order printed checks, register customers for online banking and run deposits to Add-On CD products.
  • Collect and report information as required to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Maintain files related to CD and IRA accounts in accordance with the retention schedule established by the bank.
  • Resolve customer service issues that involve account problems and service issues. If unable to resolve, obtain assistance from Operations Manager or Branch Manager.
  • Operate a teller terminal as needed, performing teller duties in accordance with established Bank policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that supplies are ordered and maintained for customer service area.
  • Attend training and informational meetings as requested or required by management.
  • Perform other duties as time and circumstances permit.      

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

  • Generate new business sufficient to meet and exceed established production goals.
  • Interact effectively with customers, both internal and external; handle problems tactfully and professionally
  • Recognize, evaluate and resolve problems
  • Communicate clearly in written and oral form
  • Write information on various forms and proof entry work
  • Stand and or sit for periods of time
  • Access and manipulate data in computer terminal in various programs and formats; proficiency in Word & Excel
  • Reconcile general ledger and deposit accounts
  • Answer telephone and provide customer service
  • Balance cash drawer within established guidelines
  • Ability to focus without distraction
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Working conditions: One-level office building with basement access. Work station in open lobby area. Work pace is brisk, especially during peak days of the month. Normal risks associated with banking functions.

Requirements: Some college experience required, college degree preferred; degree waived in lieu of appropriate experience.
